We must come up with a series of discussion points that will engage us through out the evening and will encourage others to communicate with us. By developing some strong discussion point we will be able to keep our old minds active, pretend that we just didn't work a long day at a boring job and of course meet others. Since this event is related to one of the elders business school we should think of things that might interest those around us. we should also keep in mind this a graduation party. So some people will have landed a nice job and they will be blinded by the paycheck to realize how boring their lives will become. others will have no job or prospects and will probably be stationed around the bar. we should also remember that there is free wine so the topics in the beginning will be more serious in nature while the topics in the end can be less serious but with the alcohol we will sound like geniuses or just pretentious underpaid grad students with too many choices and too many people telling us that these choices will have an impact on the rest of our lives.
its a two year program so with that in mind
so maybe one question should be
"what in your life are you happy about within the last two years?" with obvious followups "what do you look forward to in the next two years?" and "where do you see yourself in two years?"
"what's the craziest dream you had in the last three weeks? "
for the new people we could ask "why did you become and mba?" what do you do for a living? how did you get that job?" and when we get drunker " we can ask are you happy doing that?" "how do you define happiness? " do you look at you job as a source of fulfillment?"
i'll think of more but this a strong start.
